Suleyman rice
Ivan Dirkie de Veenboer (* in Hoorn ; † October 10, 1620 in Cartagena ) was a Dutch corsair of the 17th century. During the Eighty Years' War he hired himself as a pirate , later he turned to piracy and became an officer under Simon de Danser . After converting to Islam in Algeria , he called himself Süleyman Reis (also Sulayman , Soliman or Slemen Reis ) and began a highly successful career as an Ottoman captain and barbarian who commanded the Algerian corsair fleet in his later years.
