The Sünchentunnel in Rems-Murr in Baden-Württemberg is a 350-meter long twin-tube, in open construction erected road tunnel highway-like national road 29 in the course of local bypass of Schorndorf . It pierces a southern branch of the eponymous Sünchen in the area of Gipskeuper or floodplain sediments. Construction began in 1994. The structure was released on July 1, 1997 together with the Grafenberg tunnel and the Schornbach valley viaduct. The construction costs for the tunnel at the time amounted to 11.8 million DM (in today's purchasing power 8.2 million €). In the years 2013 to 2015, the tunnel technology was successively renewed, with an exterior light density measuring system installed as a pilot project - as in the Grafenberg tunnel - which records the angle of incidence of the sun and light intensity and, if necessary, reduces the speed in the tunnel in order to prevent glare and thus rear-end collisions for road users .

Due to its short length, the tunnel does not need any fans. The maximum speed in the tunnel is 100 km / h.
