Sławomir Wiak

Sławomir Jan Wiak (born August 14, 1948 in Janówek) is a Polish engineer specializing in mechatronics . Since 2016 he has been the rector of the Technical University of Łódź ( Politechnika Łódzka ).

Life

In 1967 Sławomir Wiak graduated from the Elektrotechniczne Technical Center in Żychlin . In 1973 he received his engineering degree from the Technical University of Łódź. He then worked as an assistant at the university. His doctorate under Kazimierz Zakrzewski took place in 1979 and then Sławomir Wiak worked as an adjunct at the TU Łódź. He completed his habilitation in 1990 and was an associate professor from 1993. As of September 1, 2005, he was appointed full professor. Since 2007 he has been director of the Institute for Mechatronics and Information Systems, and from 2008 to 2012 he has been Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Automation. In 2012 he became Vice Rector of the TU and in 2016 he was elected Rector of the TU Łódź for a four-year cadence. In 2017, Sławomir Wiak received an honorary doctorate from the Veliky Novgorod State University , and the following year he received this recognition from the Artois University .

Sławomir Wiak is married.
