Günter Mosch

Günter Mosch (born March 30, 1942 in Dresden ) is a former German cyclist who was active in the 1960s and 1970s. He was a specialist in cyclo-cross races and a three-time GDR champion in this discipline.

Athletic career

Mosch started cycling with BSG Chemie Bernburg in 1959 , switched to Dynamo Magdeburg and joined SG Dynamo Dresden- Nord in 1962 . From a brief episode at SC Dynamo Berlin , he remained loyal to his Dresden club throughout his sporting career.

He won the title of GDR master in his specialty in 1963, 1973 and 1974. He was runner-up in 1966, 1976 and 1979. He won third place in 1964, 1970, 1971 and the last time in 1981 when he was almost 40 years old. He was unable to take part in the UCI World Championships because the GDR's sports management did not send any more teams to the championships during the years of his performance zenith. Mosch also competed in road races, in 1970 he won the annual ranking of the best BSG drivers in this discipline.

Professional

Mosch worked in the 1980s as a technician in the speed skating section at SC Einheit Dresden.
