Klaus Pedd

Klaus Pedd (born August 14, 1943 in Radom ; † August 7, 2017 in Hainichen ) was a German cyclist from the GDR who was active in the 1960s.

Athletic career

Klaus Pedd was a trained lathe operator. He competed in road races and specialized in cyclo-cross racing in the late 1960s . As a road driver, he was able to win the jersey of the best young driver in the GDR tour in 1962 (52nd in the final ranking). In 1963 he won the lignite race , which continues under the name Neuseen-Classic ( as of 2018 ). In 1964 he started the Tour of Hungary , which he finished 11th. He started for the SC DHfK Leipzig for several years and joined the BSG Motor Hainichen after leaving the sports club. In their jersey he also won the GDR championship title in the cyclo-cross race in 1970. At Motor Hainichen, he was also a volunteer trainer and was considered the discoverer and promoter of Joachim Vogel .

After his active career, he was engaged in the cycling team Erdgas 2012 .
