Peter Hentschel (cyclist)

Peter Hentschel (born July 14, 1944 in Kolka near Geithain ) is a former German cyclist who was active in the GDR .

Hentschel was a member of the BSG activist Großzössen and mainly competed in cyclo-cross races.

In 1983 he was GDR champion in cyclo-cross racing . In 1972 he was third in the championships. In total, he took part in twelve title fights. Hentschel, who also worked as a trainer in his club, discovered and promoted Maic Malchow , who later became world champion on the track in the 1000-meter time trial .
