S-2 was a Soviet submarine that was lost in the Winter War and the wreck was not rediscovered until 2009.

S-2 ran into a sea ​​mine on January 2, 1940 with a crew of around 50 on board and sank.

Found the wreck in 2009

The search for the wreck began in April 1999. After a ten-year search, Swedish and Finnish divers found the wreck of the submarine in June 2009 near the Finnish Åland Islands in the Baltic Sea on the sea border between Sweden and Finland .
