Steve "SJ" Watson (* 1971 in Stourbridge , Great Britain ) is a British author. His first novel Ich. may. Not. sleep. appeared in 2011.

life and work

Watson studied physics at the University of Birmingham . He lives in London. He worked there for several years for the British National Health Service ( NHS ) in various hospitals, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of children with hearing impairment. In 2008 he was accepted into the Faber Academy's Creative Writing program, reduced his working hours and began writing his first novel. Before I Go To Sleep became a hit in the UK; the rights were sold in 37 other countries. The film rights were sold to Ridley Scott in Hollywood ; The film was made in 2014 by director Rowan Joffé with Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth under the title Ich. May. Not. Sleep. .
