The SAR Elektronic GmbH is a worldwide operating system supplier for industrial and process automation, which in 1985 Lower Bavaria Dingolfing was founded. This was followed by further branches in Germany in Versmold, Westerham, Leipzig, Gunzenhausen and Cologne. In 1996 SAR expanded with branches in South Africa, 1998 in the USA, 2005 in Slovenia, 2006 in Switzerland, 2007 in England and 2011 in Austria. SAR currently employs over 600 people worldwide and is the second largest employer after BMW at the main location in Dingolfing with around 300 employees. The company's customers include industrial groups, medium-sized companies and municipal associations.

Business area

SAR automates industrial systems and processes in the fields of automation, process and environmental technology, test and measurement technology, IT services, surface systems, plastic systems and green energy together with switchgear construction. The spectrum ranges from production or testing systems in the automotive industry to combustion optimization in thermal power stations.

history

In 1985, SAR Elektronic was founded by Konrad Sigl, Albert Schmerbeck and Johann Hautz. The branch in Versmold is opened in 1994, followed by the location in South Africa in 1996 , the location in China in 1997 and a location in the USA in 1998. After opening a branch in Leipzig (2002) and locations in Slovenia (2005), Switzerland (2006) and England (2007), the branch in Frechen was opened in 2010 .

After the takeover of DAT automation technology from Gunzenhausen in 2005, SAR Elektronic acquired a majority stake in "TECCAD engineering GmbH" in Landshut in 2012 and a majority stake in "ima-tec GmbH" in Kürnach in 2017.
