SBS MTV is a South Korean music television station owned by Seoul Broadcasting System and Viacom . The station started operating on July 1, 2001.

history

From 1994 to 1999 MTV showed a partnership agreement programs on the television channels under Mnet of CJ Group .

In January 2001, the MTV block returned to OnGameNet, which was then owned by On-Media of the Orion Group .

In July 2001, On-Media and Viacom started MTV Korea . Their partnership ended in 2008.

In 2008, MTV Korea was taken over by C&M.

In September 2011, SBS , a South Korean commercial broadcaster, became Viacom's official South Korean partner . MTV became part of SBS and was renamed SBS MTV in November 2011 .
