Volkmar Leif Gilbert

Volkmar Leif Gilbert (* 1991 in Königs Wusterhausen ) is a German actor .

Life

Volkmar Leif Gilbert, who initially appeared under his real name Volkmar Welzel, completed his acting training from 2009 to 2012 at the acting school in Charlottenburg , from which he graduated with a diploma and stage qualification. He also received singing and dance lessons and attended several coaching sessions at the Berlin acting agency “Die Tankstelle”. From 2016 he studied childhood education for three semesters .

After completing his training, his theater career began in 2012 at the Berlin children's theater "Theater Morgenstern". He then worked at the Schauspielbühnen Stuttgart (Komödie im Marquardt, Altes Schauspielhaus Stuttgart). In the 2013/14 season he received the audience award for “Best Young Actor”, among other things for his involvement as a high school student Ernst Röbel in the musical Spring Awakening in a production by Ryan McBryde .

At the Ludwigsburg Theater Summer in 2014, he played the male title role in Harold and Maude alongside Astrid Polak . From October to December 2014 he played the young student Cliff Bradshaw in the musical Cabaret at the Kammertheater Karlsruhe .

Since 2015 he has been part of the ensemble of the Boulevard Theater Dresden , where he initially appeared in several children's and youth theater pieces. At the Dresden Boulevard Theater he also appeared in the musical show The party never ends ... in the role of young Pierre. Since September 2018 he has played the role of the bachelor Jack Chesney in the successful tabloid comedy Charley's Aunt . Since January 2019, he has been back on the stage of the Boulevard Theater Dresden in the resumption of production.

Volkmar Leif Gilbert also appears as a clown and pantomime with his own program and participates in theater educational projects (e.g. [blu: boks] Berlin, theater out of the suitcase).

Gilbert has also appeared in front of the camera in short films , film projects and various TV productions. He had his first role in front of the camera in Kai Stänicke's multiple award-winning short film It's consuming me . For the ZDF series “ Das kleine Fernsehspiel ” he shot Operation Naked (2016) by Mario Sixtus . In the short film Curiosity killed the Cat , which was broadcast on ONE on January 26th, 2019 , Gilbert played the male lead of André, who wants to improve his monotonous life through drug use. From May 2019 (episode 2891) until October 2019 (episode 2989) Gilbert took over the role of student Laurenz Merz in the ARD telenovela Rote Rosen . He replaced Julian Brodacz , who had to give up the role for health reasons. In the six-part TV series Die Neue Zeit (2019), broadcast on arte , about the founding years of the State Bauhaus in Weimar , he played the young parliamentarian Scheicher in a supporting role, alongside Sebastian Blomberg as Minister of Education Max Greil .

Gilbert also works as a voice actor. He is a member of the Federal Drama Association (BFFS) and lives in Berlin .
