The SC Harsum (officially: Sportclub Harsum von 1919 eV ) is a sports club from Harsum in the Hildesheim district . The first soccer team has played in the Hanover district league since relegation in 2014. Between 1994 and 1998 she played in the Oberliga Niedersachsen / Bremen .

history

The association was founded on April 5, 1919. In 1936, the SC Harsum was promoted to the second highest division champions and reached the promotion round to the Lower Saxony Gauliga . There they came in last in a group with 1. SC Göttingen 05 , MSV Jäger 7 Bückeburg and VfB Braunschweig . After the Second World War , on November 11, 1945, the company merged with MTV Harsum and TTC Blau-Weiß Harsum to form the Harsum Sports Association . This merger was resolved on October 11, 1949.

The sporting upswing began in the late 1980s. Between October 17, 1987 and April 9, 1989, the team remained undefeated and marched from the regional league directly to the Lower Saxony league . After two years of relegation battle, the Harsumers established themselves in the midfield. In 1992 the Bild newspaper presented the association to its readers under the heading “One dump makes everyone baffled!”. In 1994, SC Harsum qualified for the newly created Oberliga Niedersachsen / Braunschweig and advanced to the number one sporting position in the Hildesheim district.

After a sixth place in the 1994/95 season, the Harsumers caused a sensation a year later, especially in the second half of the season, and stormed into fourth place. Only two points were missing from the runner-up. After that, numerous top performers left the club and main sponsor Dieter Gäbler died. In 1998 the Harsumer had to relegate from the Oberliga and was passed through to the district league after two more relegations. In 2013 he was promoted to the regional league via the relegation round. After only one year in the Hanover regional league, the team was relegated to the Hanover regional league again at the end of the 2013/2014 season.
