The SC Preußen Altenessen was a sports club from the Essen district of Altenessen . The first soccer team once took part in the German championship of the Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association (ATSB).

history

Nothing is known about the foundation and origin of the association. In 1928 the Prussians qualified as district champions for the German ATSB championship , where the team first prevailed against FSV Wilhelmshöhe and after a 5-3 win against ATS Buntentor from Bremen moved into the semifinals. There, however, the Prussians failed at the FT Frankfurt-Westend , against which they lost 5-1. It should remain the only participation of SC Preußen Altenessen in the ATSB championship. In 1933 the club was after the seizure of power of the Nazis banned and dissolved.

After the end of the Second World War , a new association called Preußen Altenessen was founded. Whose soccer team played in the seasons 1946/47 and 1948/49 in the Ruhr district class. The further fate of this club, which no longer exists today, is unknown. SC Preußen Altenessen should not be confused with BV Preußen Altenessen , a merger between BV Altenessen 06 and Prussia Essen that existed during the 1933/34 season .
