The SG Oftersheim is a sports club from Oftersheim in the Electoral Palatinate . The club has around 750 members in the football and tennis departments. The club colors of SG Oftersheim are green and white. In addition to two active senior teams and one women's team, around 20 junior teams and four female junior teams represent the club name in the Mannheim football district .
history
The association was created on June 1, 1975 as SG DJK / FV Oftersheim through the merger of FV Oftersheim, founded in 1911, with DJK Oftersheim, founded in 1919 . The footballers of the SG gained their first major attention when they were promoted to the Baden Association League in 1979. After relegation from the Association League in 1983, the SG succeeded in rising again in 1991. In 1996 the club became champions of the association league and was promoted to the Baden-Württemberg Oberliga under coach Reiner Hollich . In the league, the SG had no chance and rose as bottom of the table with only 11 points and 27: 104 goals directly from again. This puts the SG in last place in the all-time table of the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . After the league relegation, the club did not stay long in the association league and rose again in 1999. The downward trend continued from year to year until the club reached the Mannheim district class A in 2001, where they had to stay for five years. In the spring of 2007, the DJK-Verband resigned and was renamed SG Oftersheim . In the meantime, they managed to return to the Rhein-Neckar regional league, the first men's team is currently playing in Mannheim's A district.
