Rüdiger Patzschke (born August 18, 1967 in Heidelberg ) is a former German soccer player . The defensive player completed five Bundesliga games in the 1987/88 season with the newly promoted Karlsruher SC .

career

He began his career in the youth of the SG Oftersheim , which belongs to the North Baden Football Association and is located in the vicinity of Schwetzingen and Heidelberg . In 1984 he switched to the youth team at VfR Mannheim , where he played in the first team for a year. When a new start was started before the 1986/87 season at Karlsruher SC in the 2nd Bundesliga with the young coach Winfried Schäfer and manager Carl-Heinz Rühl , Patzschke was one of the several newcomers from the amateur field who found their way into the Wildpark Stadium . In addition to Patzschke, the blue-whites signed Alexander Famulla , Joachim Keller , Arno Glesius and also gave the talents from their own ranks with Helmut Hermann , Martin Beer, Stefan Wimmer, Axel Kahn and Andreas Weiner contracts for the 2nd division. The KSC started with a 1-1 draw away on July 26, 1986 at FSV Salmrohr in the round; Patzschke ran in front of Libero and defense chief Srećko Bogdan in defense. The KSC ended on June 14, 1987 with a 2-1 away win at 1. FC Saarbrücken the round and reached the Bundesliga return with the runner- up. Patzschke ran in Saarbrücken in front of goalkeeper Famulla and next to teammates such as Lars Schmidt , Oliver Kreuzer , Bogdan, Wolfgang Trapp , Emanuel Günther , Keller, Milorad Pilipovic , Rainer Schüttler and Glesius and had played a total of 32 league games for the KSC. In his first round as a licensed player, Patzschke rose to the Bundesliga with the KSC. He also played three games in the DFB Cup against VfL Wolfsburg (2: 2 a.d./4: 1) and Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin (2: 1).

In order to be able to survive in the Bundesliga, the Karlsruhe team signed eight new signings before the start of the round in 1987/88: Gunther Metz , Michael Wittwer , Karl-Heinz Wöhrlin , Michael Spies , Thomas Süss , Jochen Heisig , Jörg Fuchslocher and Rainer Scharinger . These included two defenders, Metz and Wöhrlin, and two other defensive players, Süss and Wittwer, at the Adenauerring. This significantly reduced the opportunities for Patzschke to work. In fact, he was only used in five games in the Bundesliga. He was used against FC Schalke 04 (4: 1), 1. FC Kaiserslautern (1: 0), VfL Bochum (0: 5), Bayer Leverkusen (1: 1) and FC Bayern Munich on October 10, 1987 brought in a 0-1 home defeat.

After this season he went to SV Sandhausen in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg and played two more rounds in the highest amateur area at the side of teammates such as Erwin Rupp , Georg Reiser , Rüdiger Menges and Jürgen Schmidt .
