Alexander Famulla (born September 20, 1960 , as Aleksander Famuła in Lubliniec ) is a former German - Polish football goalkeeper .

In 1986 he succeeded Bernd Fuhr in the goal of the second division club Karlsruher SC , rose to the Bundesliga a year later with the team under Winfried Schäfer and played a total of 112 Bundesliga and 38 second division games for KSC until 1992.

On the 7th match day of the 1988/89 season Famulla was grossly fouled in the away game at 1. FC Nuremberg by its striker Souleyman Sané . After Famulla had already safely buried the ball, Sané jumped with a stretched foot on the goalkeeper's head, whose ear was almost completely severed and sewn back on with over 20 stitches.

On November 10, 1990 he made an unfortunate figure in the first half of the game against VfL Bochum with both goals, so that Schäfer replaced him during the break against the 21-year-old goalkeeper Oliver Kahn . KSC won the game 3-2 and Kahn replaced Famulla as the Bundesliga club's regular goalkeeper. Degraded to reservists, he moved to second division FC 08 Homburg for the 1992/93 season , for which he completed nine missions.

Today he works as the goalkeeping coach of the second division women's team at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . He also runs a lottery shop in Schwetzingen .
