Bernd Fuhr (born April 11, 1960 in Limburg an der Lahn ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Fuhr began his professional career in 1978 with the then second division Kickers Offenbach , for whom he played three seasons and in his last season 1980/81 played all the team's games. He then moved to Bundesliga club Karlsruher SC for the record sum of 570,000 marks , where 37-year-old Rudi Wimmer was the regular goalkeeper. After Wimmer ended his active career in 1983, Fuhr was a regular goalkeeper at KSC, which now played in the 2nd Bundesliga. In five years, Fuhr played 95 league games for Karlsruhe, 26 of them in the Bundesliga. In 1986 he returned to the Offenbacher Kickers, which meanwhile only played in the Oberliga Hessen and in 1987 rose again to the 2nd Bundesliga. There he completed a further 74 second division games by 1989 (additional appearances in the major league). Despite his license revocation in 1989 and forced relegation to the league, he stayed with the Hessen for another year. In his last season in paid football he was in goal for Preußen Münster in 1990/91 . At RSV Würges , Fuhr finally let his career as a player and coach in the major and regional leagues end.

Most recently he was the coach of VfL Altendiez until 2006 .
