Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA, German: Wertpapier-Industrie- und Finanzmarkt-Vereinigung ) is a US-American trade association that has represented the interests of banks , financial service providers and asset management companies since 2006 . SIFMA emerged from the Bond Market Association and the Securities Industry Association . After the financial crisis in 2007 , offices are still in operation in Washington, DC and New York City .

Goal setting

The aim of the association is to influence financial policy in the interests of member companies, for example by working towards deregulation and tax rebates .

Lobbying

The Political Action Committee was among the 25 largest contributors to the US presidential campaign in 2006 .

Business consulting

The association provides business consultants and their expertise to and for members, such as the former NSA director Keith Alexander .
