The SL Green Realty Corporation is a real estate company in the legal form of REITs . She owns a portfolio of office buildings and skyscrapers and is one of the largest real estate owners in Manhattan , New York . SL Green is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol SLG and is a member of the S&P 500 index .

history

Stephen L. Green (* 1938), who studied law, founded the company's predecessor, SL Green Properties, Inc., in 1980. He began his real estate business by purchasing dilapidated loft buildings. He later expanded the portfolio, focusing solely on New York. In 1997 he founded the SL Green Realty Corporation, which went public in the same year.

In 2019 the company has 1,058 employees and is headed by CEO Marc Holliday.

Portfolio

SL Green is New York's largest commercial rental company. Of its 111 office properties, many are among the most famous buildings in New York. Its buildings are on Vanderbilt Avenue, Madison Avenue , Fifth Avenue , Avenue of the Americas , Broadway , SoHo , Columbus Circle and Times Square .

The One Vanderbilt Building is currently under construction. When completed, it will be one of Manhattan's most famous landmarks and will be rented to the largest corporations in the financial world. There are also high-quality retail buildings and shopping centers.

The portfolio comprises a total of 4.5 million m² of office space.
