The SNCAC NC.840 Chardonneret (sometimes called Aérocentre NC.840) was a sports and touring aircraft produced by the French manufacturer Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Center .

History and construction

The NC.840 was the first post-war development of the Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Center . The Chardonneret was a four-seater high-decker with fixed nose wheel landing gear , conventional tail unit and was powered by a Renault 6Q.10 engine with 179 kW. The machine flew for the first time on November 3, 1946. A Mathis 175H radial engine was installed in a second aircraft with the designation NC.841 . Although the aircraft could not be sold, the experience gained with it flowed into the development of the North NC.850 .
