The Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Center , abbreviated to SNCAC , was a French aircraft manufacturer .

The SNCAC company was established in 1936 as part of the nationalization of the French aircraft industry as a merger of the factories of Farman in Boulogne-Billancourt and Hanriot in Bourges . In 1945 the factory in Issy-les-Moulineaux , which had previously belonged to Loire-Nieuport , was incorporated.

The SNCAC was dissolved in June 1949. Their factories were taken over by the Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Nord (SNCAN).

The production range of SNCAC comprised mainly transport aircraft , flying boats and float planes , training aircraft and medium to heavy bombers for the Armée de l'air . Later light commercial aircraft were also developed. Numerous prototypes were constructed, but only a few models went into series production, including the training aircraft SNCAC NC.232.2 (55 units for France and three for Finland ), the bomber SNCAC NC.2233 (15 units for France) and only after the Second World War constructed transport aircraft SNCAC NC.701 (240 copies). Only two prototypes of the heavy transport aircraft SNCAC NC.211 Cormoran (first flight in 1948) were completed.
