Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Sud-Ouest
The Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Sud-Ouest , abbreviated to SNCASO , was a French aircraft manufacturer .
SNCASO was created in 1936 as part of the nationalization of the French aircraft industry as a merger of the factories of Blériot Aéronautique in Suresnes , of Bloch in Villacoublay and Courbevoie , of SASO in Bordeaux- Merignac, of the Usine de Construction Aéronautique (UCA) in Bordeaux-Bègles, of from Société Aérienne Bordelaise (SAB) in Bordeaux and from Lioré & Olivier in Rochefort . In 1941 it also absorbed the SNCAO . From 1945 to 1949, Henri Deplante was the technical director of SNCASO.
In March 1957, SNCASO merged with SNCASE to form Sud Aviation .
The better-known types produced by SNCASO include the Lioré & Olivier LeO 451 medium bomber , the SNCASO SO-30 Bretagne transport aircraft and the SNCASO SO-4050 Vautour tactical fighter jet .
