The CC 72100 is a series of six-axle diesel-electric locomotives operated by the French state railway SNCF . It is a sub-series of 30 vehicles of the CC 72000 built between 1968 and 1974 that resulted from conversion and reengineering between 2002 and 2004 . All machines are stationed in Chalindrey (STF Champagne-Ardenne) and wear the livery en voyage .
History, description and use
The CC 72000 and CC 72100 are the only diesel locomotives of the SNCF to have the design that was first used in the electric locomotives of the CC 40100 series and typical of the 1960s and 70s, the so-called Nez cassé (broken nose) by the Parisian designer Paul Arzens .
The converted locomotives received a 1 as the third digit with the same serial number. B. from 72021 to 72121. These are the serial numbers 21, 30, 37 to 41, 43, 45, 47, 48, 51, 56 to 58, 60, 63, 66, 68, 72, 75 to 80, 82, 86, 89 and 90.
On December 15, 2012, 22 locomotives of this series were still in service. They are used on line 4 Paris – Mulhouse and between Reims and Dijon ( TER Champagne-Ardenne ) in passenger traffic.
The 72186 was the last passenger train drawn by a 72100 on August 28, 2017. The locomotive-hauled trains were replaced by Coradia Liner railcars from Alstom, which also resulted in the end of the Corail carriages on Ligne 4 .
Others
Three machines of the CC 72000 series (72061, 72062 and 72064) received Scharfenberg couplings in 1999 to pull TGVs between Nantes and Les Sâbles d'Olonne, and the company numbers 72101 to 72103. In 2003 these locomotives were dismantled and numbered again.
