SRAD

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SRAD is the abbreviation for the system name of a Ram Air system used by Suzuki called Suzuki Ram Air Direct . This system is used in Suzuki's two-wheeler division.

In principle, cooler outside air is supplied here by the dynamic pressure generated by the airstream through air inlets on the front of the motorcycle. In the most favorable case, this serves to increase performance, which increases with increasing dynamic pressure.

This system was first used on the 1996 model year Suzuki GSX-R 750 GR7DA . This series is therefore also provided with the additional designation SRAD and is divided into the models GSX-R 750 (model year 1996 - 1999 ) and Suzuki GSX-R 600 (model year 1997 - 2000 ).

The subsequent models GSX-R750 Y-K3 (years of construction 2000–2003) and all subsequent models also have the "SRAD" system.

The first generation system was also used in the Suzuki TL1000 .

The SRAD system is still used in the GSX-R series today .
