history

SV Brake was founded in 1908 as FC Brake . In 1922 the club was merged into Braker SV. From 1943, the Braker SV played in the Gauliga Oldenburg-Friesland and took fourth place in the nine-team season in the first season. The following season was stopped after a few game days due to the war. In 1946, after the war, the club was re-founded as VfL Brake (Association for Physical Exercise Brake). They played under this name until 2006. In 2006, VfL merged with Sportverein Brake (SV Brake), which was the result of a merger between Braker Turnverein (BTV) and TuS Brake 03 . The SV Brake continued the soccer department of TuS Brake 03 until the merger with VfL.

Football stadium

The performance teams of SV Brake (women and first men) mainly play in the Poligras stadium in Brake. The stadium made history, as the first poligras in Germany was laid in Brake, on which point games were then played. In addition to the Poligras stadium, SV Brake also has a stadium in the culture and sports center with natural grass. The lower popular sports and youth teams play here.
