The SV Johannstadt 90 is in the Dresden district Johannstadt -based sports club, mainly in the women's soccer , girls soccer, handball and bowling are operated.
history
The association's roots lie in the women's football section of BSG Aufbau Dresden-Ost, which was launched in 1971. The club established itself as one of the strongest forces in women's football in the GDR . In 1979 and 1980 the club was runner-up twice in a row.
After the dissolution of the GDR and the associated reorganization of sport in East Germany, the women's soccer section was re-established as SV Johannstadt 90. In the last season of the Oberliga Nordost the team failed to qualify for the Bundesliga in 1991 and was placed in the Oberliga Nordost , a newly created second class . Relegation took place after two seasons.
After twelve years of division SV Johannstadt 90 in 2005 rose briefly in the district league from. But the triple was already achieved in the following year: district champion , district cup winner and indoor district champion : this secured the promotion again.
In the period that followed, SV Johannstadt 90 was twice regional cup winners and indoor champions.
This long-lasting phase of success has its origin, in particular, in the fact that the club has been providing continuous, committed and excellent youth work in girls' football for a long time and to this day.
If enough girls could be won for the club, the girls of all age groups played football - and very successfully. The youngsters of SV Johannstadt 90 have already made the championship team in some competitions in youth football.
The only men's team in the handball department has so far played at the district league and district league level.
In the club's bowling department there are five teams and six teams of all ages.
