The SV Neuses 05 is a sports club from the district of Neuses the Upper Franconian district town of Kronach . In addition to the formerly successful football department, the club also offers gymnastics and tennis.

history

Founding members of the gymnastics club in 1905

The club was founded on August 27, 1905 as a gymnastics club in 1905 . Within the gymnastics club in 1924, the stem squad was grouped. After a successful event, there were differences of opinion, whereupon these young athletes, under the direction of Hans Schedel-Liesen, started their own business as the "Kraft" Neuses athletes' club. In 1920 a soccer club was founded in Neuses, the SC Neuses, which is considered the forerunner of the SV soccer department.

Due to political influence, the town's three sports clubs, the gymnastics club, the athletes' club “Kraft” Neuses and the soccer club SC Neuses, merged to form SV Neuses 05. A table tennis department was added in 1959 and a volleyball department in 1976. These two departments became independent as SG Neuses. There has been a tennis department since 1975.

The SC Neuses rose in 1932 in what was then the second highest division in Germany. With less than 800 inhabitants, it is still the smallest place in Germany that has ever played so high-quality. This team was then the Solz of the Franconian Forest. In 1936 SV Neuses won the Ostmark Cup.

After the war ended, the club continued to play under SV. A new beginning, like everywhere in Germany, had to be started. After 32 dead and 11 missing fell victim to World War II, it was difficult to form a powerful team. For several years they played in the 2nd amateur league Ofr.-West. 1956/57 the team was 1st in the 2nd amateur league Ofr.-West. After promotion games against FC Bayreuth , southwest Nuremberg, 1. FC Haßfurt , SpVgg Erlangen-Büchenbach and VfR Goldbach, the SV was confirmed as a promoted team. The highlight was the home game against FC Haßfurt in front of 5000 spectators. This was most of the spectators at a point game.

The rise is considered the highlight in the club's history. After having successfully held the class for three years, they rose again in the 1959/60 season.

In the 2005/06 season they stood for the last time in the district league. In the years that followed, they found themselves in the midfield of the Kronach district league. The SV Neuses team had little to do with the promotion. In 2012 the team had to change after a few withdrawals and be completely reorganized. Then follow the worst relegations in the club's history. With only 3 points and −134 goals, they were relegated to the district class in 2012/13. In the following year with 13 points and −81 goals in the A-class.

A complete fresh start had to be started in the then lowest league. With young players and a new player-coach, they tried to get promoted again as soon as possible. In the 2016/17 season, the relegation failed before the sovereign promotion succeeded in the following season. Since then, with a now strong squad, attempts have been made to build on old successes and to rise again to the district league.

The highlight of the club's history

A friendly game between SV Neuses 05 and FC Bayern Munich is one of the highlights of the club's history .

On June 10, 1972, the front runner of the Bundesliga played in the Flößerstadion in front of around 8,000 spectators. Klaus Doppel gave SV Neuses a 1-0 lead in the third minute. However, this should be the last sign of life for the home team, so that FC Bayern turned the game in the completely different direction within 30 minutes. So it was already at break 1: 9. In the end, FC Bayern headed by coach Udo Lattek should beat the Neuseser 1:12.

On January 6, 1969 the IG-Sportstättenbau was founded. The property below the school area was acquired with the support of the community. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 13, 1969. Two years later the area was inaugurated. Thanks to the great personal contribution of the members, the cost was 415,000 DM. On June 13, 1971, VfB Stuttgart played their first game against SpVgg Bayreuth. In front of 6000 spectators, Bayreuth won 2: 5. The attendance record is 8,000 visitors during the friendly against FC Bayern Munich.

In normal game operations, only around 100 to 150 people attend a game today. However, due to its size, the sports home can be used for large celebrations.
