The sports club 1931 Ottfingen eV is a sports club from the municipality of Wenden in the Westphalian district of Olpe . In 1988, the football department moved into the first main round of the DFB Cup .
history
The club was entered in the register of associations in 1931, after having played football together in town a few years earlier. From initially just one senior football team under the umbrella of the SVO, many new departments have emerged over the decades. Football is now played in three senior teams, plus numerous youth teams and a large popular sports department.
successes
The greatest success of the soccer team is undoubtedly the entry into the first main round of the DFB-Pokal in 1988. Under coach Werner Schumacher , the then league leader of the Bundesliga VfB Stuttgart was opponent of the Ottfinger. The game was played on August 6, 1988 in Siegener Leimbachstadion , where Stuttgart a. a. won with striker Jürgen Klinsmann 5-0 in front of 13,500 spectators. In 2013, the SVO rose to the seventh-class Landesliga Westfalen , but promptly had to relegate again.
