The sports club Südharz Walkenried e. V. was a pure football club from Walkenried in the Harz region . The club was founded in 1969 and had the club colors red / black. The SV Südharz had 220 members.

successes

The SV Südharz had one of its most successful times from the 1995/96 season to the 1999/00 season, where they were able to stay in the Lower Saxony / Bremen Oberliga for 5 years . After the 1999/00 season they played in the Lower Saxony League East , where they always belonged to the top group, but have never been able to become champions. In 2006/07 the team took 3rd place in the Eastern Relay of the Lower Saxony League. After all but one of the players left for the 2007/08 season due to the main sponsor's death, it was decided to voluntarily relegate to the Braunschweig regional league. In 2008 he was relegated to the Braunschweig district league, followed by relegation to the district league in 2017. On July 1, 2017, SV Südharz merged with VfB Bad Sachsa to form VfB Südharz.

Teams

The SV Südharz currently operates two men's teams. The SV Südharz also operates six youth teams and one senior team, which played in the final of the German senior men's championship in June 2008.

Playwear

The playwear is in the colors red and black, with the jersey striped red and black and the pants only black. Home and away jerseys are the same, although a completely black set (jersey, shorts and socks) is also available as an alternative.

Sports facility

SV Südharz has two grass pitches, with the second B-pitch only being released for play in 2007. The first men's team usually plays on the A-grass pitch.
