Janno Prants

Janno Prants (born December 19, 1973 in Võru ) is a former Estonian biathlete .

The sports soldier Janno Prants is married and lives in Võru. He has been running biathlon since 1986 and competes for SC Pohjakotkas . In 1995 he made his debut in Oberhof in the Biathlon World Cup . In a single year he was 43rd and 71st in the sprint. In Antholz , he also started at the biathlon world championships for the first time that year without achieving any significant placements. A year later he won first individual World Cup points in Osrblie as 27th. In 1997 he achieved his best placement at the World Championships in Osrblie with the relay as ninth. In 2003 he repeated this placement with the Estonian relay in Khanty-Mansiysk . Prants started in Nagano in 1998 at the Olympic Games for the first time and achieved an 18th place in the individual as the best placement. In the same year he also took part in the world championships in summer biathlon for the first time . In Osrblie, a 13th place in the pursuit was his best result. In Antholz he came in seventh place with the relay in the following season.

A first major success in Prant's career he achieved in 2000 at the World Championships in summer biathlon in Khanty-Mansiysk. With Dimitri Borovik , Roland Lessing and Indrek Tobreluts he won the season title. At the 2001 Military World Championships, the Estonian was 26th in the sprint. The following season Prants was best in the World Cup. He achieved his first good result with the season as sixth in Hochfilzen . In Antholz , he was eighth in pursuit and thus achieved his best placement. In Salt Lake City he took part in the Olympic Games for a second time and achieved a 45th place in the sprint as the best place. He came in the points five times and finished the season 42nd overall. His last international race so far denied Prant in the sprint at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin , where he was 75th in the sprint.
