Indrek Tobreluts (born April 5, 1976 in Tartu ) is an Estonian biathlete .

Indrek Tobreluts is a student from Elva . He has been biathlon since 1986 and is trained by Rein Pedaja. The athlete, who starts for the Estonian Agricultural University , has been part of the Estonian national team since 1995 .

Tobreluts celebrated his debut in the biathlon world cup in 1995 in an individual (80th) in Oberhof . That year he also took part in the biathlon world championships for the first time - in Antholz - without, however, achieving a significant placement. Until 2007 he took part in all other world championships. In 1998 Tobreluts took part in the Olympic Winter Games for the first time . In Nagano he achieved his best result to date with a 36th place in the sprint. Also in 1998 he took part in the World Championships in summer biathlon and came in seventh place in sprint and pursuit in Osrblie . The Estonian had a leap in performance at the Biathlon World Championships 2000 in Oslo on Holmenkollen . Here he was 17th in the sprint and thus placed in the World Cup points for the first time. The 2000 World Championships in summer biathlon in Khanty-Mansiysk went particularly well . Here Tobreluts was world champion in the sprint and second in the pursuit and third in the relay with Roland Lessing , Janno Prants and Dimitri Borovik .

In the 2000/01 season Indrek Tobreluts was able to achieve several good placements in the winter biathlon for the first time. The highlight of the season were the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , where Tobreluts, however, did not achieve any results worth mentioning. Shortly afterwards, in Oslo, he achieved a top-10 result for the first time in tenth in the sprint. In the next two years Tobreluts was able to improve steadily. In the 2003/04 season he achieved his best ever World Cup result in a sprint in Pokljuka in fifth. He finished the season 31st in the overall World Cup. After that, only sporadically good World Cup results in individual races followed. In the summer of 2004, the Estonian started again at the World Championships in summer biathlon. In Osrblie he won silver in the sprint behind Zdeněk Vítek , in the pursuit he was fourth, with the relay fifth. Two years later in Ufa , he again won silver medals in the sprint and in the pursuit.

In 2010 Indrek Tobreluts took part in the Winter Olympics for the third time . He finished 31st in the sprint, which is his best Olympic result of his career.
