Dimitri Borovik
Dimitri Borovik (born January 24, 1974 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian biathlete .
Dimitri Borovik has been practicing biathlon since 1988. The Kaitsejõudude Sportclub athlete is trained by Tiit Pääsuke. The married chef has been a member of the Estonian national team since 1994. Borovik made his debut as 69th in an individual in Oberhof in 1994 in the Biathlon World Cup . In 1996 he won as a sprint 20 First World Cup points in Osrblie . The best result in an individual race of his career so far was a 12th place in an individual in Antholz . With the relay around Roland Lessing , Indrek Tobreluts and Janno Prants , he was even able to finish fifth twice - in 2002 in Osrblie and in 2003 in Oberhof.
Between 1995 and 2005 Borovik took part in all the biathlon world championships . He experienced his most successful world championship in 2003 in Khanty-Mansiysk . Here he reached a 17th place in the individual and an 18th place in the pursuit. He was also ninth in the season. Career highlights were Borovik's three appearances in the 1998 , 2002 and 2006 Olympic Games . Especially in 1998 in Nagano , he was able to convince with an 18th place in the sprint. In 2000, Borovik also took part in the World Championships in summer biathlon in Khanty-Mansiysk. With Tobreluts, Prants and Lessing he won relay bronze.
