The SV Tollense Neubrandenburg was a German football club from Neubrandenburg that existed from 1968 to 1999. The home of the Mecklenburgers was the Friedrich Ludwig Jahn Stadium .
BSG Baumechanik Neubrandenburg
Tollense Neubrandenburg was founded in 1968 under the name BSG Baureparaturen Neubrandenburg . The company sports club changed its name to Baumechanik Neubrandenburg shortly after it was founded , but played exclusively at the Neubrandenburg district class level until the eighties.
The sporting rise began in 1981 with the engagement of the former player Wolfgang Heiden as a coach. Heiden managed to sign several players from Post Neubrandenburg . The BSG Baumechanik rose through these reinforcements within a very short time to 1983 in the third-class district league Neubrandenburg . Also in the district league they were promoted again, although the championship of the district of Neubrandenburg before Lokomotive Anklam and the second team from Vorwärts Neubrandenburg was only made perfect on the last match day.
In the GDR league the BSG Baumechanik were clearly shown their limits, with only ten season points, the immediate relegation took place. The timing in the GDR league, however, was also extremely unfavorable, as the league was reduced from five to two seasons. The district league held the BSG, which was renamed Tollensewerke Neubrandenburg after reunification , until 1991.
Tollense Neubrandenburg
Subsequently, the SV Tollensewerke Neubrandenburg was integrated into the newly founded Association League Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The top division in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania held Neubrandenburg continuously until 1999, with the club appearing exclusively as Tollense from 1997 almost exclusively in the relegation battle. In 1999, SV Tollense, founded in 1968, merged with local rivals FC Neubrandenburg to form FC Tollense Neubrandenburg .
