The Sportgemeinschaft Grenzach-Wyhlen 1918 eV is a football club from the southern Baden town of Grenzach-Wyhlen in the Lörrach district in Baden-Württemberg . The club emerged in 2013 from the two clubs 1. FC Grenzach 1918 and SV Wyhlen 1928 .
history
Both clubs, from which the sports community emerged, had their most successful years in the 1960s, in which both clubs played in the 1st amateur league at different times .
1. FC Grenzach
1. FC Grenzach was founded in 1918. After the championship title in the 2nd Amateur League South Baden in 1964, you were allowed to play in the 1st Amateur League from the 1964/65 season to 1968/69 .
SV Wyhlen
SV Wyhlen is the successor to 1. FC Wyhlen, which was founded in 1928. On July 12, 1946, the club was renamed Sportverein Wyhlen, Dept. Football. In 1951 the name was again changed to Turnerbund Wyhlen, Dept. Football. Since August 1, 1952, the football department was again an independent club under the name Sportverein Wyhlen 1928 e. V.
In 1958, SV Wyhlen was promoted to the third-class 1st Amateur League South Baden and was able to stay there for two seasons. At the end of the 1960/61 season , relegation followed.
fusion
From 2010 the junior teams of 1. FC Grenzach and SV Wyhlen formed a syndicate. In the 2012/13 season, the men's teams also took part in gaming as a syndicate. At the end of April 2013 the two clubs decided to merge. The 1. FC Grenzach broke up. Its members joined SV Wyhlen, which was renamed Sportgemeinschaft Grenzach-Wyhlen 1918 eV. Dissatisfied members, mainly from Grenzach, founded the Sportclub Grenzach 2015 eV on October 19, 2015, which will take part in games from September 2016.
