Detail of the cup-and-ring markings

Sa Perda Pinta is a Sardinian menhir . It is not far from Via Nuoro, northwest of Mamoiada in the province of Nuoro . The only upright stone with cup-and-ring markings on the island is 2.7 m high, 0.7 m wide and about 35 cm thick. The many concentric circles, five of which are more clearly visible, consist of up to five rings. The cup-shaped central depressions are comparatively small.

A bowl stone , of which there is a counterpart in Italy only at Monsagnasco in Piedmont , was found near Sa Perda Pinta.

In addition to Sa Perda Pinta, plate-like fragments and menhirs with cup-and-ring markings (Stele di Garaunele and S'Ena Manna also called Sa 'e Mazzozzo, Sa' e Matzotzo) are known in Sardinia; and the fragment of a menhir called Su Rosariu.
