Saafi Brothers
Saafi Brothers is the name of a Frankfurt music project in the ambient and electro genre by Gabriel Le Mar , Michael Kohlbecker and Petro Nikolaidis.
history
The Saafi Brothers were influenced by styles such as electro , acid house and dub . In 1997 they released their debut Mystic Cigarettes on the British label Blue Room Released, followed by Midnight's Children , Liquid Beach and Supernatural .
In 2014 Saafi Brothers released their album Live on the Roadblog on the Danish psytrance label Iboga Records , which was the result of a series of live recordings. The CD contains an 8-page Travelogue book designed by Simon Ghahary and published on the American record label Carpe Sonum Novum.
In 2017 Saafi Brothers released their sixth album The Quality of Being One on Liquid Sound Design in the style of ambient dub. The pieces have been remixed by numerous artists.
Their album covers are designed by Simon Ghahary, who founded the psychedelic trance label Blue Room Released in 1994 with Robert Trunz and Mick Paterson.
Saafi Brothers played at festivals such as Sziget (Hungary), Tribal Gathering (United Kingdom), Roskilde (Denmark), Arvikafestival (Sweden) and Summer Jam in Germany. In 2018 they opened the Hungarian Ozora Festival together with X-Dream .
