Gabriel Le Mar

Gabriel Le Mar (* 1966 in Berlin ) is a German music producer who moves between experimental electronica , chillout and current club music. He worked with Saafi Brothers , Aural Float and Dr. Moth .

Life

In 1994 Gabriel began to play dub in the Frankfurt area with his first sound system "Dub Mix Convention" . They played UK Nu School dub, classic Jamaican sounds and experimental live overdub . After a series of events, the studio album Dub Mix Convention was created with his studio partners Reverend and Marcus Darius. Different dub styles combined elements from techno to house , jungle and reggae on the release.

In 1995, inspired by the mixing techniques of Jamaican dub music, Gabriel initiated the local dub sound system "Serious Dropout" with the producers Jammin 'Unit , Tricky Cris and Reverend. They released three albums on Sony / S3, combining NuSchool dub, reggae, electronics and techno sounds with singers from Jamaica and the UK. They worked closely with the English dub producer The Rootsman and with artists such as Mad Professor , Drumhead, Markie J and Yah Meek.

Together with Pascal FEOS and Alex Azary , Le Mar was involved in the ambient music project Aural Float . In 1995 the album Introspectives was released .

In 1996, under the direction of his project Aural Floa ', the Space Night series on Bayerischer Rundfunk developed into an audiovisual concept with space recordings and ambient music. Gabriel Le Mar composed spherical, electronic sounds with Saafi Brothers .

In 2000 Gabriel Le Mar produced a symbiosis of reggae, dub and electronics with Banned-X. With the support of vocalists Yah Meek and Markie J. they release their neo-dub album Songs An 'Trax and later their second album Blessed Love with vocalists Yah Meek, Markie J, Bobo Niyah and Ras Abraham.

In the publications by Dr. Motte meets Gabriel Le Mar meets electronica and energetic techno. Further publications took place in cooperation with Pete Namlook , Toby Izui (Supercruizer) and DJ Dag .

Le Mar played at festivals such as Time Warp , Deichbrand , PollerWiesen , Roskilde Festival , Sziget , Ozora, Tribal Gathering and Antaris. He can be seen on more than 30 published albums and numerous collaborations and remix productions for u. a. Paul van Dyk , Jam & Spoon and Sven Väth look back.
