The PollerWiesen is an open air event series for electronic dance music (mainly techno , house and electro ) with DJs and live acts, which was held for the first time in 1993. The Poller Wiesen in Cologne's Poll am Rhein district was the first event location and gives the brand name “PollerWiesen”.

The series currently has four event formats: PollerWiesen Opening in the youth park Cologne , PollerWiesen Festival in the Revierpark Wischlingen Dortmund, PollerWiesen Closing again in the youth park Cologne and PollerWiesen Boot Eins and Zwei on the MS RheinEnergie from Cologne.

Some of the events are known to only take place when the weather is good.

history

In 1993 the first PollerWiesen took place as an illegal open-air party on the Poller Wiesen in Cologne on the Rhine. Thus, the PollerWiesen was one of the first regular open air parties for electronic music in Germany. The events have only been officially registered since 2003.

Since it was founded, PollerWiesen has accompanied many of the most successful DJs and producers on their careers. Previous headliners were u. a. Sven Väth , Paul Kalkbrenner , Ricardo Villalobos , Richie Hawtin , Marco Carola , Ben Klock , Nina Kraviz , Marcel Dettmann , Len Faki , Laurent Garnier and many more.

PollerWiesen events have so far taken place in Cologne, Dortmund, Leverkusen, Mülheim ad Ruhr and Gelsenkirchen.

For the 20th anniversary, the 82-minute documentary "PollerWiesen - The Story of a Party" was published on YouTube .

Visitor numbers

The events are regularly attended by several thousand people. Around 10,000 visitors came to the 25th anniversary of the opening event in Cologne in April 2018.

At the PollerWiesen Festival in June 2019, over 12,000 visitors came to the Dortmund Revierpark Wischlingen.
