The Saaleschiffahrt Bad Kissingen has been a shipping company in Bad Kissingen , Bavaria, which has existed since 1877 .

history

In 1876, one year before the shipping operations started operating, Carl von Paschwitz founded the steam shipping company on the Franconian Saale . On August 13, 1877, operations started with the Kissingen screw steamer . The manufacturer of the steamship was the Escher Wyss company from Zurich . The ship had a draft of 75 centimeters and could accommodate up to 40 passengers. The company was taken over by Andreas Lohrey in 1882 . In the same year Lohrey acquired another identical ship. In steamship times the ship had a crew of three men, one of whom was the stoker . Today's Kissingen was built in 1924 and still has a riveted hull. The sister ship Saline was built in 1964.

The two ships called "Dampferle" run on a regular service , during a journey time of 15 minutes, over a distance of around two kilometers, from April to October, between the lower landing station at the Rosengarten and the upper landing station at Saline. In 2019, the two motor boats were powered by a 54 hp, four-cylinder marine diesel engine from MAN . It is not far from the Upper Saline Landing Station to the sights of the Upper and Lower Saline .
