The Saami Bay is a side bay of Husvik Harbor on the north coast of South Georgia . It is located northeast of Point Purvis on the south side of the Pintail Peninsula .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2013 in recognition of the contribution of Norwegian Sami in capturing reindeer introduced to South Georgia .
