Sabine Liebig (* 1964 in Ravensburg ) is a German historian .

Life

Sabine Liebig studied from 1983 to 1988 at the PH Weingarten teacher training for primary and secondary schools with the subjects English, history and housekeeping / textiles. From 1985 to 1986 she worked as an assistant teacher in Leeds at two schools and also attended the University of Leeds . After her legal clerkship in Heidenheim, she worked at elementary and secondary schools in Baden-Württemberg until 2000, most recently at the Kuppelnauschule in Ravensburg. During this time she did her doctorate at the Pedagogical University Weingarten in the subject of history on the subject: "Everyday life in Transylvania between National Socialism and Communism; using the example of Maria Klein." From 2000 to 2004 Sabine Liebig worked as a research assistant in history and its didactics at the Leibniz University in Hanover .

Since October 2004 she has been teaching as a professor for modern and contemporary history and its didactics at the Karlsruhe University of Education .

Research priorities

Sabine Liebig researches topics such as migration and gender . In addition, she teaches "global history", topics from the 19th and 20th centuries (including GDR history), aspects of Jewish history and historical didactics . Another focus is women's suffrage in 1919. She is also working on a project on teachers in the 19th and 20th centuries on the basis of the estate of the teacher Febronie Rommel, which was kindly made available to her for processing by the Freudenstadt City Archives.
