Sabine Offermann

Sabine Offermann (born November 29, 1894 in Cologne , † after 1938) was a German opera singer specializing in lyrical and dramatic soprano .

Life

She received most of her vocal training in Berlin and made her debut in 1921 at a concert in Cologne. In 1925 she took up an engagement at the Stadttheater Münster , and from 1926 to 1928 she sang at the Chemnitz Opera House . From 1928 to 1930 she performed at the Düsseldorf Opera House and from 1930 to 1933 at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.

From 1933 to 1936 she was engaged at the Hamburg State Opera , from 1936 to 1937 she was the first female soprano at the Wiesbaden State Theater and from 1937 to 1938 at the Berlin State Opera . Guest appearances took her to the Dresden State Opera (1927) and the Monte Carlo Opera , where she appeared in 1935 as Brünnhilde in Siegfried , 1936 as Brünnhilde in Die Walküre and from 1937 to 1938 as Isolde in Tristan und Isolde and as Brünnhilde in Götterdämmerung . As part of Wagner concerts, she made guest appearances in Paris in 1931 and in Bucharest in 1934.

Other important roles were Senta in Flying Dutchman , Elisabeth in Tannhauser , Sieglinde in Walküre , Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana , Marschallin in Rosenkavalier and the title role in Turandot .

Offermann later lived in Wiesbaden . There are no recordings on which her voice can be heard.
