As a Brazilian joint-stock company, Sadia SA is a food manufacturer with its headquarters in Concórdia . Customers are retail and gastronomy as well as the processing industry.

Sadia produces over 2.3 million tons of food annually in 20 factories ( chicken , turkey , pork and beef products , ready meals , pasta , margarine and desserts ). With more than 60,000 employees, sales of approx. R $ 12.2 billion were achieved in 2008 (approx. EUR 4.5 billion, exchange rate of BRL 2.7 / EUR). Sales in 2008 by product group:

The company was founded in 1944. Export started in 1967. The products are currently sold in over 100 countries. The export share is approx. 46% of sales. In May 2009, the competitor Perdigão announced that it would merge with Sadia to form the new company Brasil Foods (BRF), in which Perdigão will hold 68% and Sadia 32%.
