Pilot project

Aini-Park became the site of a pilot project in the field of surveillance technology in 2018. Cameras with facial recognition developed by the Chinese company Huawei were installed there. According to the official announcement, the reason for these measures was to record the number of visitors to the park, but the project actually served to support the law enforcement authorities, who should be able to investigate crimes and find wanted criminals by monitoring minor crimes. In 2019 it was announced that the system would be installed in other parts of Dushanbe as part of the Safe City project .
