Safia Monney , also known as Safia Al Bagdadi (born June 21, 1980 in Berlin ) is a German - French actress and author .

Life

The daughter of a French woman and an Iraqi girl, she was born Safia Al Bagdadi in Germany, the homeland of her Berlin grandfather. Here she also spent the first years of her life. Her mother tongues are German and French. She received her acting training at the Conservatory of the City of Vienna and at the International School for Acting Munich. She then completed her BA in communication science at the LMU Munich .

During her time at the drama school in Vienna, Safia played at the theater in der Josefstadt and participated in numerous school productions. After completing his training, she performed at the Münchner Kammerspiele (2004–2005) and the Muffathalle Munich (2005–2006). In film and television she was seen in productions for the TV channels ARD, RTL and Pro7. She also starred in independent films such as Detlef Bothe's holiday .

Safia Monney has lived in Paris since 2008 and has shifted her focus to writing. Her debut novel "At the end is far from the end" was published as the author in 2016 as a top title in the Rowohlt Taschenbuch Verlag ( rororo ). The black comedy about four old men on the journey of a lifetime has sold almost 20,000 copies so far.
