The Sahaidachnyi Monument ( Ukrainian Пам'ятник Петру Сагайдачному ) is a monument built in 2001 on Kontraktova Square , the central square of the Podil district in the Ukrainian capital Kiev .

The bronze sculpture was inaugurated in honor of the ataman of the Zaporozhian Cossacks Petro Sahaidachnyj on May 19, 2001. The equestrian statue , financed by donations, is 5.5 meters high, 1.5 meters of which is on the gray granite base, and shows the Hetman riding and swinging a club.

The designs and the executions come from the workshop of the sculptors Schwezow, Sydoruk and Krylow.
