The Square of Contracts ( Ukrainian Контрактова площа Kontraktova ploschtscha ) is one of the oldest courses in the Ukrainian capital Kiev and the heart of the district of Podil with numerous monuments such as the house Nasarija Suchoty , the central building of the Kiev-Mohyla Academy , the contract home , the Samson Fountain , the Sahaidatschnyj Monument , the Pyrohoschtscha Church and St. Catherine's Monastery as well as many cultural institutions and the Embassy of the Netherlands .

The trading yard Hostynyj Dwir , located in the center of the square, divides it into a north and south part. The square, which already existed in the days of the Kievan Rus and was the city's most important marketplace at that time, is a traffic junction on which nine streets merge, including the Andreassteig . The square is also connected to the tram network and has a subway station for the Kiev metro .
