Sajedabad is a district in the Wardak province of Afghanistan .

The district is known for its pleasant climate, its plantations and the hilly terrain. Until the violence between ISAF and Taliban increased significantly in the late 2000s, it was considered a popular relaxation area for the residents of Kabul .

history

The district has been participating in the Afghan Public Protection Force program since 2009 .

On November 17, 2009, soldiers from ISAF and the Afghan National Army stormed a facility in Sajedabad. They killed five people in the process.

On August 6, 2011, according to the ISAF, 30 US soldiers (including 22 Navy SEALs ), seven Afghan soldiers and an interpreter were killed when a CH-47F Chinook transport helicopter was shot down in Sajedabad district . The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

In an attack near a NATO military base on September 1, 2012, at least twelve people, including eight civilians, died. First a suicide bomber blew himself up and then a parked truck exploded. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
