Saleem Kidwai

Saleem Kidwai (born December 20, 1951 in Lucknow ) is an Indian university professor and author .

Kidwai was born in Lucknow , where he went to school. He studied history in Delhi from 1968 and from 1973 taught history at Ramjas College at the University of Delhi for many years . In 1993, Kidwai decided to quit teaching in Delhi and became a writer. He wrote several books. His book Same-Sex love in India: Readings from Literature and History , which was published in 2000 and written jointly with Ruth Vanita , is particularly well known .
