Salient Ridge (English for headland ridge ) is a striking and 10 km long mountain ridge in the Royal Society Range of the Transantarctic Mountains in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It extends from Salient Peak in an east-northeast direction along the southern flank of the Salient Glacier .
The naming, which is based on those of the glacier and mountain of the same name, was made at the suggestion of the New Zealand geologist Robert Hamish Findlay, who headed three geological campaigns as part of the New Zealand Antarctic Research Program between 1977 and 1981 .
